Still no news on Cpanel 11.34? What's going on?

Cpanel 11.34 looks to have a bunch of great features but it seems not one of the planned features has had any update since June.

I know with David's passing it can be difficult and there may not be a replacement for him yet but if you look at the feature requests forum there's nothing happening from cpanel.

I'm most keen to hear about the new backup system and faster backups by ditching gzip.

The Angry Lama team handling the above hasn't put an update since June.

Any news?

I'd highly suggest posting in the Angry Llama area for details on that specifically.

Next, are you subscribed to the news and releases mailing lists? They can be found at the following locations:

When 11.33 is released to EDGE, it will appear both in the releases mailing list, the news mailing list and on Downloads - cPanel Inc. location. You'll also start then seeing entries in the changelog - Change Logs

Unfortunately, a set date or even set month cannot be provided at this point. Once there is any news at all, it will be conveyed. The best place to ask about the new, improved backup system, though, is going to be in that section:

I've posted there but no reply as of yet. Out of interest, do these teams work directly for cPanel or are the sub contracted out?

Don't get me wrong, I'm a developer myself and know full well how long some things can take and not everyone appreciates the time involved.

I'd rather it work than release a buggy system. I am subscribed, I'm just one of those people who likes to be updated then I'm alright, otherwise I get concerned.
