Hello.

How to disable logrotate in hours that is most visited with visitors? It is eating too much CPU and all is slow.... Can someone explain me how logrotate works ..is this every day or weekly ?
Is safe to kill this process ?

Thanks.

Go on, have a guess
Are you sure it's logrotate and not the cpanellogd logrunner process that you're talking about. It's most likely to be the latter. You can control it by installing cPanel Add-on module "Log Scheduler" in WHM > Addons

Well, logrotate normally runs as part of the daily cron at 04:00 through the script:

/etc/cron.daily/logrotate

If you want to move it from 04:00 (or whenever you have your daily cron set to run in /etc/crontab) you would need to move that script elsewhere and setup a root crontab to run it whenever you want.

We have a lot of heavy sites with lots of visitors and i thing logrotate didnt finish his job in 4 hours (04:00->08:00), so i was moved his job to 01:00 . I hope this will fix my problem :)
Thanks chirpy for your time.
