    Hello!

I only have mail forwarders on my server, no actual webmail accounts. However, I logged in today and see that

    /home/[myaccount]/mail/inbox

is at 20 GB of spam, many to accounts that don't exist (randomly_generated_name@mydomain.com)

Is there a way to make WHM forward mail to my Gmail account but not store messages to email addresses that don't exist?

Would setting this option in Tweaksettings to FAIL be the right move:

Default catch-all/default address behavior for new accounts. fail is usually the best choice if you are getting mail attacks.
    localuser blackhole fail

    Thank you,

    Adam

Yes, you should set the catchall (or default) address to :fail: on all accounts to prevent the problem you describe.

    Thanks Rick,

I went into cPanel, clicked on Mail, then clicked on Default Address and set the default address to :fail: on all my domains/subdomains for every account

That, combined with the Tweak Settings to :fail: in WHM has put an end to spam storage. So thrilled...
