    Hello All,

We recieving up to 50 virus emails a day on our domain.com account with fake domain account names, some are from people saying that I'm sending them infected email or from the virus itself, is there something we should do to fix it. The virus is not on local computer and we are not getting this from any of our other domains.

Any sugesstions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

You could install mailscanner from layer1 ( search the forums if you need help with this ). And the emails complaints you get, well get used to it. The virus spoofs the from address. You are probably getting notices from antivirus programs, it is a nusance. If you do install mailscanner. Please turn off the function that sends the sender a notice.. please!

Try turning on Spam Assassin on your accounts and telling your users to do the same. Spam assassin appears to block a lot of the viruses e-mails.

MailScanner is not a virus scanner, it takes mail from MTA (exim) delivers to virus scanners like clam / fprot and then gives it back to MTA to deliver to the user.

If you are using the mailscanner installation from cpanel you would already have clam installed. MailScanner conf allows you to use multiple virus scanners if you like (though u need licenses for most of them)

If i m not wrong spam assassin comes in picture when exim tries to deliver the mails to the user, by this time the mails are already scanned by the virus scanner.

I have a nice MailScanner how-to written here.. I installed it recently and it's working great. I however have SpamAssin disabled as I don't get much spam on this server/domains yet anyway.

The memory and cpu usage went up BARELY! But I probably only get 50-100 viru's sent to this server.. (reseller's domain to be exact.. argh!!)
