I have roughly 5,000 pictures that get accessed very very frequently. (few hundred times per second). Would you guys recommend I use mod_mem_cache to store them?

I have a new server i'm playing with and i did

    ab -n 10000

it got the same results when i turned mod_cache on or off. This could be just due to the fact the server has no traffic on it and it's just 1 picture but still curious. Is there a way for me to know if mod_mem_cache is working and it has stuff stored?
