Strange - Domain redirection disappear

We have a domain that we use exclusively for parked domains of clients.

Add domains as parked domains and if necessary then redirect it to somewhere.

It however happened three times during the past year that a client contact us because the domain redirection no longer exist.

I personally added the redirection to an URL but when the client contact us months later and I checked, the redirection no longer exist and I am 100% confident it was NOT removed by us.

Anyone have an idea as to why it happens please?

The .htaccess file was either overwritten, deleted, or modified with the rewrites removed from the primary account's (the cpanel user) public_html directory. Restore the original .htaccess if possible and the redirects will be back without you having to re add them.

Make a backup of that file! :)

That's it yes thank you. I completely missed it.

The .htaccess file of several accounts was hacked and modified in the past but I failed to link it to the redirects. (With my mind "dns oriented" I forgot that the redirects are via htaccess)
