stunnel hanging

I'm currently having an ongoing problem with stunnel. At apparently random intervals, it will stop responding and attempt to use up all CPU. The result is that no cpanel pages (cpanel, whm, webmail) respond, and I have to log in and restart the cpanel services. Since I only see this after the fact, and have not been able to replicate it, I'm not sure what's causing it.

I tried checking "Use native SSL support if possible, negating need for Stunnel" but quickly ran into an old problem where cpsrvd-ssl processes tend to hang, each one increasing the load of the box, causing it to slow down.

The server is FreeBSD 5.3. We have plans to update to a new server, but it will be a little while until that's ready. Last night, I ran upcp. The server is now running WHM 11.11.0, cPanel 11.16.0-R18473, FREEBSD 5.3-RELEASE i386 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0

Any suggestions for troubleshooting, or has anyone else run into similar problems?

Exactly the same problem here and would love a solution for it... s'getting very annoying. Same OS here too... altho I haven't yet upgraded to WHM 11.x.x or cPanel 11....

And yes, had exactly the same problem when I checked "Use native SSL support if possible...." also.

Upgrade WHM and cPanel to latest RELEASE branch versions, THEN flip from stunnel to nativessl in the updated WHM, all issues fixed.
