I'm a bit confused as to why I'm still getting the default ../apache/htdocs index.html.en page, when I've already put an index page in my /root/public_html...

basically, mydomain.com... where's it's root directory? etc.

hopefully i'm not being vague, and i don't mind referral links, i tried a search to no avail

thanx in advance,
eric

When you create an account via WHM it uses the structure in /root to create the structure of the account. You should NOT edit the files in your /root unless you have good reason to do so.

One way to find out where a virtual host gets pulled from is to check the httpd.conf which of course is located at:
/usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf

When you create an account, usually by default ( depending on your setup ) accounts are created in "/home/username". If you're looking for the path where the default apache pages are, they're in "/usr/local/apache/htdocs/".
