I'm having a strange issue with su. I normally login as root by going to one of my accounts and using su to root with "su root".

However, this morning, "su root" resulted in:
    su: incorrect password

I edited the /etc/ssh/sshd_config to allow direct root logins and I was able to login fine. I changed the root password, still no luck with su.

I su just about everyday, so I know it has been working fine for the last month.

Any idea where I can go to checkout what the issue is?

Well, post and even before I get an answer it is solved. I was testing on another account and went to manage shell access and noticed that the account I've been using was in Jailshell. I move it to normal shell and su started working again. So either this account changed to jailshell for some unknown reason or jailshell is now having issues with su to root. Not sure which.

A couple, the whole log as 5. I don't believe there was a block on the account. It is one I use all of the time and I could log into the account. I just couldn't SU.

It's normal for the login to fail if you are in a jailed shell environment. It's possible the value for the package assigned to the account changed from normal shell to jailed shell.

    Thank you.
