Ok so I just updated WHM to 10.6 and now I cannot su to any other user even from root.

This is the message I get:

    bash: /usr/bin/su: Permission denied

I am logged in as root

Please any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is root a member of the "wheel" group?

Specifically what version of WHM/cPanel are you running? Version 10.6, as all, has many different builds. On top of this, what OS are you running?

I'm on WHM 10.6.0 cPanel 10.6.0-C136 under CentOS 3.5 and su is working fine.

Uh, when I look under SHELL ACCESS MANAGER all I see are the usernames associated with actual webhosting accounts. Admin usernames like root are not there.

So that post doesnt help me at all.

    I started getting this:

    -bash: /usr/bin/su: Permission denied

...after upgrading to 10.8.1-S114 WHM 3.1.0 on Trustix i686.

    permissions on su are

    -rwsr-x--- 1 root root 22620 Mar 17 2004 /usr/bin/su*

My assumption is that somehow the upgrade changed the group ownership on su from wheel to root?

My problem is that I dont have console access to my server in the datacenter... its far away.

    Ive always relied on su.

    Can anyone help?
