SOLVED Sub Domain doesn't work

hi all,

i'm a complete novice in CPanel, sorry to bother you with dumb questions.

i have cloned a VPS, edited the ipadress, changed the hostname, updated the DNS in WHM and Cpanel, and the DNS of the ISP.

Then i added a subdomain and that is where the fun stops (see screenshot below). Where can it find logs of what went wrong? the log in cpanel gives no relevant information.

A ping resolves to the correct hostname.

Hey there! No worries about questions - that's what we're here for!

The "Sorry" page happens for one of two reasons - the DNS isn't configured properly for the domain, or the Apache vhost isn't configured on the correct IP address. If you do a simple "ping" to the subdomain, do you get the correct IP address you expect in response? That's the first, and easiest thing, to check to start the troubleshooting process.
