Greetings I am trying to get a redirection of a subdomain to work.

    I have a subdomain helpdesk.domain.com

I have a support cgi from perldesk inside helpdesk.domain.com/cgi-bin/pdesk.cgi

now their are no main index.html files in helpdesk subdomain I just want it to immediately goto the pdesk.cgi script

but when I setup the redirectory and type in http://helpdesk.domain.com it does redirect to the pdesk.cgi script

but it REDIRECTS EVERYTHING if I type in another url like its KB.cgi file it will redirect me back to pdesk.cgi users can't even login because the url will reroute them back to pdesk.cgi main file.

my question is this a bug or by design??

Try this... Get rid of the redirect.

Add this line to the .htaccess file in your helpdesk directory.

    DirectoryIndex pdesk.cgi

And finally, don't put the help desk, in the cgi-bin folder, but put it in your main folder ( /public_html/helpdesk/ ).

I have done this for a few clients, and it works great.

    Good luck
