Subdomain address position at beginning in URL not working.

I want my subdomain to display and navigate as http://newsubdomain.domain.com.
But I can only get to it by typing http://domain.com/newsubdomain.
What do I need to change the settings so the subdomain address puts it at the beginning of the web address, not the end?

Did you add the subdomain in cPanel>>Domains? Is the document root set to point to the correct folder?

Yes, I used the cPanel to add the subdomains. I can see the subdomain folder (called "new") inside the public.html folder.
I was expecting the URL format to be http://new.domain.com but only http://domain.com/new works.
I've done the exact same thing with another site using a different hosting provider with success....so maybe it's something I need to bring up with this provider.

I already checked the folder structure and seems for me all good.
