Is it possible to add a new site in WHM using subdomain.domain.com?

My goal is to have secure.mysite.com as it's own site and not just a folder under mysite.com. This way I can assign it it's own IP as needed to install an SSL cert.

Right now if one creates a subdomain in cpanel all it does is create a folder in the main site dir. I don't want that. I want a whole new site setup as if I were just setting up domain.com in WHM.

I have read conflicting reports that yes it works, yes it does but you get errors if you remove it and no it doesn't work at all.

My old server, a RaQ4i, allowed me to do this and it had a spot just for it when creating a new site. It wanted you to put in either www or whatever you wanted and it created a whole new account for that www or other .domain.com account.

    Thank you.

    Hi
    1) Login to your WHM
    2) create account and for the domain part type : subdomain.domain.com
    3) assign a ip address

you should be done and It will create whole new /home/usrname/public_html,email and ftp accounts and you can install the SSL for that.

    hope that helps
