Hi there everyone.

I'm trying to create a new subdomain through the CPanel & no matter what name I use for teh subdomain, I get the following message:

(subdomain name) is owned by another user.

Other users on the same server are experiencing the exact same problem.

I've created several subdomains in teh past & have never had this problem before.

Any & all help will be greatly appreciated.

Does not some commands exist to checking for subdomain names which are in use ?

It can be contingently a problem with your cPanel configration.

Check for the entry of that subdomain in

/var/cpanel/users
/var/named/ delete the domain.db file
/etc/named.conf
/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
/etc/localdomains
/etc/userdomains
/etc/valiases/
/etc/vdomainaliases

delete the entry if it exists and then try to recreate it.
