I have a client that is having an issue setting up redirection on his sub-domains. He has 2 sites with us. He is trying to set up the following redirection.

sub1.domain1.com should point to domain2.com/directory/directory/

sub2.domain1.com should redirect to
domain2.com/differentdirectory/directory.

I thought it was possible to set up sub-domain redirection to directory of another url...is this not the case?

Although I have not used this feature myself, I also thought it supposed to work like that. What WHM version are you using?

First thing that comes to my mind is to confirm the setup is correct and the designated URL is working.

I spoke to our NOC, and they say it isn't the case.

Hello,
Subdomain redirection only works for the same domain as the main account, you can't redirect the subdomain from one account to another. So, you can do xxx.shoes.com -> shoes.com/xxx or a full domain like newdomain.com -> shoes.com/newdomain, but not in the configuration you provided as an example.

Hi,
yes this is easily possible,
login to your cpanel,
create the subdomain,
setup redirection for the subdomain,
enter the url you want to redirect to,
voila!
Hope this helps,
Thanks :)
