Can this work from the Edit MX Menu for a Sub-Domain? Is this a bug or is there a good reason for it like this because the sub-domains do show up in the menu. I had the same results when trying to edit MX for a subdomain too.
I was wondering the same thing the other day.

My mistake, I can't enter MX record when using option Edit an MX Entry , but when using Edit a DNS Zone I have to put a . (dot) at the end of subdomain to work
