suddenly cannot send email

Can anyone help?
Since yesterday we have been unable to send emails from Outlook on Windows XP and from Outlook on Windows 10.
We receive mail on all accounts normally.
The error message is: 0x800CCC80 - None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server.
So... how come they were supported until a day ago (for 10 years or more...)?
From my iPhone or from another laptop I can however still send emails.
Very confused, please help?

Hi @mpduk,

It is possible the server was recently upgraded.

In short, it's an issue with the cipher suites supported on the server.

Thank you. To be honest the information was a little over my head, however in desperation, 10 minutes before I read your response I checked the "outgoing mail" settings on Outlook and changed to "login to incoming email server before sending" from "use the same method as for receiving mail" (sorry I quote from memory) and suddenly that particular account could send again.
Now I'll have to see if this works also on the Outlook on the Windows 10 system, which unfortunately is in Eastbourne (I am in Sweden) and the guy using it is more clueless than I...

@ZenHostingTravis is correct, and looking at your profile I don't think you'd have access to make these changes. I'd suggest you discuss what changed with your hosting provider along with updating outlook to accept a relevant encryption method.
