Hi,
I've noticed this twice today, on two different cPanel servers at different times, hours apart. Makes me think it is the result of some update push to some aspect of the system.
Suddenly no email account on a specific server is able to auth for receiving email. The password is always rejected no matter what, resetting the pass in cPanel for the email account does not help to resolve this.
The only thing that does work to get everything authenticating properly is simply to access WHM and restart all three email services. The problem with this however is that we do not maintain email accounts on all of our servers, so I fear that this may occur with all of our hosted members on one of our servers, as are caught unaware.
I am tempted to cron a restart to imap, exim, and pop on all servers, once every two minutes until we can figure out what is going on with this, but I am leery that this may cause some disruption if we do this.
Anyone know what could be going on here?
Thanks much.
