super easy question

    I'm very new using cPanel, I'm just tring to do the simplest web site possible: just a page displaying the word Hello. But I just doens't work, my page just shows the index. How to get read of the index? Ok thank you, JB

    Hello :)

    The very basic answer is that you will need to ensure the file is named "index.html", assuming it's an HTML page you are uploading. If it were a PHP file, you would name it "index.php". The file should be uploaded to your "public_html" directory.

    aaaa thank you, after hours of listening and reading all kind of tutorials I finally found out. Interesting enough, this kind of very basic information is one of the hardest to find.
