How goes Cpanel support for Fedora 7? I have a Xen server that for some reason only likes Fedora 7 and fails other installs so would it be possible to install cpanel on Fedora 7? Thanks.

Here's a link to the feature request for FC7 support:

    http://bugzilla.cpanel.net/show_bug.cgi?id=5377

Note, since development sources are focused on completing the cPanel 11 roll-out at the moment, expanding OS support has been placed on the "back burner" until the roll-out has completed.

As I said I'm running a Xen server with 28GB of ram that the hypervisor had to be changed to 64bit even though I'm running a 32bit OS in order to see beyond 16GB of ram which causes some compatibility problems. Only Fedora 7 will work with paravirtualization which means only Fedora 7 will run with near native performance (less then 1% overhead). Other distro's will work fine in fully virtualized mode but then suffer some major overhead as everything is virtualized.

Also, good luck getting CentOS 4.x to work on a Intel Core2 system. Yes I know CentOS 5 is works but most of the time, anyone who NEEDS CentOS, also needs 4.x.

So it just isn't supported or won't install at all? Is there an eta for support commencing?

Indeed it is with dual Xeon E5345 Clovertown 2.33GHz (8 cores) and over 5TB of hard drive space. I had fun building it :). However, Xen has been making me lose my hair for about a month to make it ready for VPS rentals.

It isn't supported, however according to our feature request for FC7 ( http://bugzilla.cpanel.net/show_bug.cgi?id=5377 ) - it appears that if you trick cPanel/WHM into thinking FC6 it may work just fine.

You can make Cpanel work with FC7 but it's not officially supported yet ....

Subsequently, that means you are pretty much on your own if you install
Cpanel on a FC7 based server but support for it should probably catch
up fairly soon since Fedora support generally moves pretty fast.
