So I installed the recent CURRENT builds, to get the latest MySQL. Then, when the build number on the RELEASE branch reached 17800, I decided to upgrade to that to get a more stable product.

Instead, it reverted to the older MySQL version.

None of this, of course, seems documented.

Now that you have 17802, is it the new or the older MySQL for the RELEASE branch?

If not, when will that branch incorporate the later version?

Inquiring minds (and confused minds :)) want to know.

    Peace,
    Gene

The latest MySQL 5.0 (5.0.45) is still in CURRENT. Here's the bugzilla entry you can track this on:

    http://bugzilla.cpanel.net/show_bug.cgi?id=5455

Note switching builds will not automatically Upgrade MySQL from 4.0 to 4.1 or from 4.1 to 5.0.

It did upgrade me from 5.0.27 to 5.0.45, however, when I went from RELEASE to CURRENT.

    Peace,
    Gene

Yes, because that was a minor upgrade. Just like updates to the 4.1 and 4.0 series. Major upgrades that could cause complications (like going from 4.0 to 4.1 or 4.1 to 5.0) are not automatically performed by cPanel/WHM.

    Thanks, David.

I'll be looking forward to the new MySQL's incorporation into the RELEASE branch, but things are working pretty nicely for me now.

    Take care.

    Peace,
    Gene
