When you suspend a site, a .htaccess file is created in the /public_html directory. The old one is renamed to .htaccess.suspend

By default, the redirect will be to the reseller that "owns" the site. If the site is owned by the root user, then the redirect will be to the server hostname. If it is another reseller, then the redirect will be to the resellers own domain name.

If you want the redirect to go to the users own domain name, then you will need to create a subdirectory & suspend page in the users domain and manually edit the .htaccess file to point to that suspend page.

An alternative to having the suspend page in the users own directory would be to have an alias in your httpd.conf for the suspend page.

I'd imagine you can edit the suspend script so that the .htaccess file creates a redirect relative to the domain being suspended.

    Thanks for the reply.

I thought that id chnaged an option in whm to redirect to the hsotname or servername. I was convinced it was something that i could just change as easy as clicking a button.

I like the idea of adding some info to the htppd.conf. Although im not 100% what to do.

To edit the .htaccess file seems an ok, way to do things. However, its only ok if your suspending the account yourself. If the account gets suspended for b/w over usage is ur absense then its going to redirect to the owner/reseller.

An option to suspend tha count on its own domain name, should be (in my opinion) something that cPanel should add in future versions of WHM.

    Thanks again for your input.

Okay lets say I suspend a reseller account. His site will redirect to the custom suspended page that I created correct? If tis is true what about his customers....will they be redirected to his (customized or not) error message or will they be redirected to the custom error message that I set up on root?
