Suspicious File Alert - ESD

Having now redirected root, nobody & cpanel mails I'm getting some Suspicious File Alerts for a folder /tmp/.esd-501. This is a private (one client) server and I'm guessing the 501 relates to an account group. It looks like this could be a remnant of Gnome that we tried on the server (CentOS6.5) as the only reference I can find to ESD is to do with sound on Gnome. Gnome was flakey so we removed it.

The question is: is it safe to just delete this empty folder? Nothing to do with WHM/cPanel?

I don't see a problem with removing an empty directory in the /tmp partition.
