We made a symlink between a cpanel user name backup and a 2nd HDD mounted on /backup with the command

    root@[/home/backup]# ln -s /backup

It makes a symlink for /backup to /home/backup/backup instead of making symlink for /backup to /home/backup. Can anyone help what we are doing wrong in it.

The directory cannot already exist that is going to be the symlink, only the directory you are linking from can exist:

    Code:
    ln -s /backup /home/backup
The above should work provided the /home/backup directory doesn't exist already and /backup one does.
