Hi All

Recently we had a system crash and was restored from backup. Now we are seeing that the log files are not getting weekly rotated and zipped .gz

If any one has faced this issue please help

Make sure that the syslog is running so that the logs are rottated properly.

Check by : service syslog status

If it says that it is stopped : service syslog start

Also make sure that crond is running:
check by : service crond status

if not running start it.

There is an issue on RHES4/CentOS 4 with logrotate no working properly with a /tmp mounted noexec. Don't think it would apply to RH9 though.
