hi all
when i installed cpanel in my redhat7.2 and restarted the system didn't start normally . it goes to the text mode and i can not change anything.
i should say that my rh7.2 is a workstation version but i have installed it as a server. i want to test it first and then i will plan to buy it.
i have installed it with this command line
./cpanel-redhat7.2-install.sea
lol it began to install and took about 3-4 hours and after restart.....
could you please help me how to get rid of this problem????
thanks

I installed Cpanel on one of our workstations and have had nothing but problems with it. You really should not install Cpanel on anything but a clean server install. I would recommend wiping and reinstalling. In fact, you shouldn't host from a workstation install either.

You don't have to buy it. Just reinstall everything and when the screen comes up asking what to install as choose server. Personally I always check install everything if it's a big enough hard drive and space isn't a factor. But you don't need to buy redhat server at all. The only advatange of buying any linux distro is you get the docs, support and pretty labelled CDs.

i have done the same as you said but i got problems. maybe i made a mistake but while installing redhat i choose server and blah blah. as i run the command to install the cpanel it asks several questions and after about 3-4 hours installation time finishes. to install i open a terminal and run ./filename
am i right?
and after reboot you know what happens lol

Just press enter for all the questions unless it asks for the apache src and then just press q and enter.

one more question
is the command line correct????
./cpanel-redhat7.2-install.sea
????????
i have also contact redhat network and they said that for this reason i don't need to buy any server version of redhat. the normal version has the server components. just when installing i have to choose server. i have had those problems as i installed it on redhat server.
ok i'll try it again and tell what happened
thanks for your help :)
