Tailwatchd constantly saying NSCD is down

Hi,

We have about 500 cPanel VPSs and have an issue where if BIND is not the selected name server tailwatchd regularly reports the chosen nameserver as down. It seems like it gets mixed up with which name server is actually installed.

This has been happening for a long time now, but has got worse over the last 6 months.

The most recent one, the client had chosen MyDNS, but emails constantly keep coming in saying NSCD is down. Changing to BIND and then to MyDNS or NSD fixes it the issue.

BIND also has issues where often it won't serve multiple zones for the same domain (e.g. if there are separate zones setup for ns1.domain.com, ns2.domain.com, vps.domain.com and domain.com), it simply ignores some zones on some occasions, we cannot pinpoint why it does that, it just doesn't serve them. NSD and MyDNS do not have that issue.

Can cPanel please fix tailwatchd with regards to name server monitoring:
