I used WHM to move some sites to another server. A few of them didn't go, although the tarball files were created on the old server. I suppose I'll have to FTP them to my desktop and then up to the new server. Do they open automatically when they get to the new server? If not, how do I then open them?

    Thanks

Tarballs will not automatically extract themselves on the new server. However, if these tarball files are "full account backups" and you upload them to /home (not /home/user), you will be able to go to WHM -> Backups -> Restore a Full Backup/cpmove file and set them up from there.

I wouldn't bother downloading them either. Use wget to transfer over to the new server if possible and save yourself some time.
