telnet & Counter

    Have you had anyone perform any security updates on your server?

    If this is the case, you`ll find that they've disabled telnet as it's a security risk in having it running.

    They would have also disabled the counter.cgi script along with others as they are exploitable and allow hackers to easily hack the server.

    You can probably create a symbolic link by typing the same command into a cronjob. I just set it up for every minute and waited for it to do it and then deleted it. It worked for me! Good luck!
