temp address no longer working

Hi all,

I have noticed recently that the temp address is no longer working for example

Actual address: www.example.com
Temp address: 123.321.123.321/~examplec

When this is visited it comes up with the 404 page not found.

does anyone have any ideas on this one?

There are several limitations when using the Apache Mod_Userdir URL to access a website. These are documented at:

The better approach to access a website before it's DNS resolves to your server is to modify the hosts file on your individual workstation:

I have checked about the mod_userdir and this is disabled. I have tried to activate but cant do it as passenger is active

This is by design because the two modules are incompatible. If you enable Apache's ruby24-mod_passenger module in WHM's EasyApache 4 Interface (WHM >> Home >> Software >> EasyApache 4), the system disables Apache's mod_userdir module by default.
