How do I test email forwarders?

I often get people calling in saying "my forwarder isn't working" even though it appears to be setup ok in cpanel.

Got any tips for trouble shooting this?

    Dear AbeFroman,

A simple test is what I have given.

    1.Create two test accounts.

    2.Add the forwarder(For example,test1@yourdomain.com to test2@yourdomain.com).

    3.Send a mail to the first account(test1@yourdomain.com).

4.You should see the mail in the second account (test2@yourdomain.com).

If this works, it just means your forwarders will work. Search the forum if in case, you find any problem.

    Regards,
