Hi,

What is the recommended action on receipt of an email that says

"The AutoSSL certificate renewal may cause a reduction of coverage"

fyi: in the above case it's a WordPress website.

Thanks,

Ross

Hello,

Could you let us know the full contents of the email notification (ensuring to replace real domain names with examples)? The message body should include information about why the renewal is failing for some domain names. Or, to see if the full AutoSSL log file for the account, use the "Logs" tab in "WHM >> Manage AutoSSL".

Thank you.

Thanks for your reply.

AutoSSL appears to be complaining about a mail.<companyname.com> record. We get the same warning every day for the same "mail." record.

"... but the web server responded with the following error: 404 (Not Found). A DNS (Domain Name System) or web server misconfiguration may exist. The domain “mail.companyname.com” resolved to an IP address “xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx” that does not exist on this server."

And yet mxtoolbox thinks that the mail records are just fine for this domain.

Just doing some more testing, will report back.

Hello,

If the "mail" subdomain does in-fact resolve to the same IP address associated with the cPanel account, then feel free to open a support ticket using the link in my signature so we can take a closer look.

Thank you.

To confirm: the mail sub-domain *doesn't* resolve to the same IP associated with the cPanel account, hence the error, so all good. My mistake/misunderstanding. Thx.
