    Hello,

We have received notification regarding like,

When the “lmtp” service reaches its memory limit, the system performance will suffer because the service must start a new process and it will lose all of the data that it has cached in memory.

You should increase the current memory limit of “1 GB” or remove any unwanted email from the xyz@srv.xyz.com account. To increase the memory limit, use the “Maximum Size of a Mail Process” setting in the Mailserver Configuration interface in WHM.

    whmapi1 get_mailbox_status account=xyz@srv.xzy.com

    root@srv [~]# whmapi1 get_mailbox_status account=xyz@srv.xzy.com

    Hello,

You should consider reducing the size of that email account to help prevent this from happening. To see where that email data is stored, check to see which account that domain name is associated with using a command such as:

    Code:
    /scripts/whoowns srv.xyz.com
Then, browse to the account's mail directory to determine where the email is stored:

    Code:
    cd /home/$username/mail/
You may have to browse to additional sub-directories if the domain name is not the primary domain name associated with the account.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

You can browse to the "Default Address" option in cPanel for this account and change it to:

"Discard the email while your server processes it by SMTP time with an error message"

This will ensure email sent to email accounts that do not exist are rejected instead of stored under the default mail folder. For the existing email, you can manually remove the email data from that directory if it's SPAM and you don't need to review the contents for legitimate emails.

    Thank you.
