I just changed to the new backup system, but its this possible ?

daily => Local backup
weekly => Remote backup

Hello,

It's not possible to setup daily and weekly backup on different destinations but you can setup both backup (daily and weekly) on local and remote backup space using the "Additional Destinations " in WHM » Backup »

Or set up a weekly cron job with rsync to sync the local to remote

Yes, You can setup the rsync scripts at every week to copy your local backup to remote backup space
