the procedure to upgrade mysql from 4.xx to 5.xx in cpanel

    hi....all


    can any one tell me the procedure to upgrade mysql from 4.xx to 5.xx in cpanel ...............:)

    Can only be done from shell IIRC.

    /scripts/mysqlup

    Backup your SQL databases and all that good stuff before you go ahead.

    Root Administrator
    Take a look at
    Main >> Server Configuration >> Tweak Settings

    There is information and settings there.

    Root Administrator
    This will only update you to the latest version of whichever branch of MySQL you are using. So if you are using 4.1, it will update you to the latest 4.1, not to 5.0.
