    Hey,

TSM (The source matrix) Is a freely available autoinstaller script, it installs most of the scripts fantastico does, probably more. Its php based, so heres a tutorial on how to install it!

    REQUIREMENTS:

    cPanel Pro from http://pro.cpanel.net

    Active cPanel License

    And of cource cPanel itself!

    1) Go to http://thesourcematrix.com and download the .tar.gz
    2) Copy it to /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x/ and do tar -zxf smatrix_2_b3.tar.gz
    3) cd smatrix
    4) Login to WHM and open root phpmyadmin
    5) Add a database called: matrix_2_b3
    6) Add the data from /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x/smatrix/matrix.sql into the matrix_2_b3 database
    7) Edit the /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x/smatrix/matrix_config.php to reflect your mysql information. Make sure it has root for more convenience
    8) Login to your cPanel, click on the "The Source Matrix" Icon. and it will come up with some options. Just click yes to activate your "Beta License" for The Source Matrix.
    9) Login to cpanel again, and click on "The Source Matrix" icon. And there is your script autoinstaller!

NOTE: When you install a script. DO NOT enter the username for the database/username: eg: if i wanted to install phpbb and my username was r00t, i would enter myphpbbdatabasename for the database (note, no r00t_ prefix) and for the user put myphpbbdatabaseusername (note again, no r00t_ prefix). And it will autocreate the Database.

I hope this helps you all!

It took me ages to install TSM!

    Regards,

    Brent

It is freely available for the moment because it is in beta. When it is released it will not be free. As per their product page.

SourceGuardian encoding has been the source of many headaches for fantastico users (should have gone Zend I! :p), but Netenberg's development and support efforts have been first rate. TSM will REALLY have to prove something for us to consider using them.

TSM's developer has stopped development for some unknown reason. In the lag time between the downfall of TSM and now I've been writing the Open Installer. You can see the homepage at http://www.openinstaller.com/

It is currently undergoing alot of active development so the entire package isn't available as an installer yet.

Lifelesshost == Trel in the IRC room.

You can look at the development roadmap here: http://www.openinstaller.com/roadmap/

It will be entering beta1 soon. ;)

Yeap you were talking about it in #cpanel.
Thought you are just another pothead trying to get attention. :)
    But you proved us wrong!
It will take sometime to add reseller usage rules and uninstaller if you planned in doing that.
An open infrastructure for people to add their own scripts package plus ease of doing that will be a plus. Throw in a clear and concise documentation and you guys will be ready to rock!
If it is stable enough I will include it as an optional install for Cpanel XP if you guys don't mind. :)
And I will be glad to contribute to the development too.

I consider the developer of source matrix a good friend of mine.
He has helped me a lot in my development.
From what he told me he plan to launch it at the end of the year if I am not mistaken.
And the price is going to be way low.

An uninstaller of the scripts installed is already done. The reseller usage rules are up in the air if they will make it into STABLE1. It depends on things lining out properly.

As for an optional install in Cpanel XP, be my guest. It is under the MIT license so its not like I could stop you even if I wanted to. ;)

As for TSM developer coming back, that really isn't something I can comment on.

Sorry for the long delay, I got too bussy there. I have desided to bring TSM back. Looking for some help to maintain it and further it. The program will be relased under GPL, that means free.

    Here is the download:

    To download:
    cd /root
    wget http://scripts.blurstorm.com/thesourcematrix.tar.gz
    tar -zxvf thesourcematrix.tar.gz
    cd thesourcematrix
    sh install.sh

    Once complete do:

    cd /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x2/smatrix
    vi matrix_config.php

    Edit your mysql password.

    Hints on VI

    Press the INS key
use the up, down, left and right keys to navigate
    make text changes
press the ESC key and press :wq press enter

What I would like to know is how well the install.sh works. Let me know if files are not copied over correctly.

maybe im doin something wrong but when i go to a user account and try to install things "when i say things i mean all soft included" it makes the db in sql but doesnt populate it, and never makes the dir in public_html let alone copys over the files. followed the directions to the letter but may have over looked something.
looks great hope to get this working.

odd, can you give me the exact steps? If you want to pm me that is fine cuase I will need to know how long the username is, how long the password was, etc. I don't need the password just the length.

Also, are there any developers who wants to help work on this project?
