Hello,

I'm a VPS server holder. I'm not well-knowned for everything. I'm having a problem that someone is sending a large amount of email from ([email protected]) which is not a valid user because my.hostname.com is my WHM server Domain name and user is one of my user which is connected with my server.

I'm having a lot of problems. Now how can I prevent this issue. Please help me.

Hey there! If you are seeing spam leave the server from the "[email protected]" address, that often indicates an automated script is trying to send messages from that user account. I'd recommend working through the guide we have here:


to see if that gets you more specific details on where the spam messages are coming from. Can you start there and see if that helps?

Thanks for your assistance. How can i set a rule that without authorization no one can send any email. Is it possiable?

I would recommend checking the SMTP restrictions link here:


as that will limit who can interact with the mail server on the machine at the system level. Can you check those settings and see if that helps?
