theme copyright??

i am making a theme for my hosting company, and I am just wondering what kind of copyright do i have??? should i register the theme to some authority? or simply make a statement on my website or within the theme files??

any comments appreciated!

It's plagerism to copy anything anyway, so it's still illeagl. Copyright (I think) just has a higher penalty.
