things to do to lower server load

    new to servers myself but can anyone point out some thngs I can do to lower server load. I have two sites that are very active and was looking for advice in things I can do to speed stuff up.

    well you can look at you "CPU Usage" option on WHM. you can look at wat is actually making your load so high... if it is your website scripts, i would suggest the coders optimize there scripts, either by recoding it, or using an optimizer, like Zend or Ioncube.

    A lot of things need to do depend on what cause the load spike; POP, Web, SMTP or MYSQL? In my case, user has a busy database connection. I suggest user to use mysql_connect instead of mysql_pconnect. And it do help a lots.

    Etheral is right.
    Ever since I installed Zend and Turck my server load goes down significantly.
