    Hello

In Tweak Settings I put 1 to

    ------------
The number of times users are allowed to check their mail using pop3 per hour. Zero is unlimited:
    ---------------------------

but I and all users can check infinitely and load server get high level.

I can setup manually via SSH this number check?

    Thank you
    Marcelo

AFAIK, that function doesn't work if you've upgraded to the courier-imap/maildir daemons. I'm not aware of a workaround.

The version has nothing to do with it. If you're running courier-imap instead of cppop/cpimap then it won't work as I said above.

That is not a solution. If you are having this issue, then you are more than likely all ready running courier-imap/maildir. There is no known fix for this issue at this time.

Downgrading does not help as that has nothing to do with mail. You would have to open a bugzilla request with cPanel to see if they have a fix for it or can create a fix for it.

Send an e-mail to your clients requesting them to not check more than x amount of time per hour.

Do you think there could be other issues then someone being able to check their email without a limit?

    Just a thought.

    Hello

No, this problem started after automatic update of cpanel to cPanel 10.8.2-R83

cPanel 10.8.1-S114 dont have this problem.

This problem is very dangerous. It can compromise the stability of the server

Today the server worked with peaks of 20 load server

    Thank you
    Konrath

Not likely to be fixed as best information I received from cPanel was that courier/maildir doesn't allow for this.

    http://bugzilla.cpanel.net/show_bug.cgi?id=3665

Can say that after converting to maildir and the way in which messages are handled (/new/cur/tmp) that pop checking frequency seems to be less of an issue.

But, if resolved, what I must make?

I must make a conversion? I dont have problem before update to cPanel 10.8.2-S120

    Thank you

As far as I know, Chirpy published a program that restricts this.

Visit www.configserver.com and look for csf/lfd.
