I am tring to change the timezone of my server. I am selecting Europe/Istanbul from list and pressing Change TimeZone button. It is saying "successfull" but the time zone is still Canada. How can I change the time zone? Where is the problem?

    Thank you

The most basic command for seeing the time is date. If you type date at a shell prompt then the Linux system will say something like:

    Wed Sep 5 19:00 BST 2005

    .
It knows the time because it sets the counter.

To set the time and date with date is also easy:

    date -s 'Wed Sep 5 19:00 BST 2005'

Where BST is the time zone; you can set it to EST or whatever time zone u r in ;)
