I have owned a web hosting company since 1997. I have been with Alabanza, Tried Cobalt and worked with some other vendors. I found Cpanel over 2 years ago and have 7 web servers using Cpanel. I therefore think I speak with some authority when I say this....

I am tired of Exim. It has been plagued with problems since I first began using Cpanel. In the last few months, I get thousands of bounced messages from mailnull that fill up my var. This is only the latest. Just do a search for "Exim" in this forum and you will see the myriad and numerous reports from others about Exim.

When will Cpanel get serious and get rid of Exim? There are other "STABLE" options for a mail server. Exim has just got to go.

Well, those bounced messages are generally bounced for a reason (And you can disable many of those reasons in the exim config, not that you'd want to), and if you really don't like them, you can set a cron job to clear them out automatically every ten minutes or so. The question is, do you really think it's exim as an MTA that's causing these bounced messages?

We are own 35 Servers at the Moment from these 35 Servers 20 are Running with Cpanel and Exim. Exim sometimes does what it wants. Is running fine on one Server and is totaly stupid on a other Server. 8 Servers are running with Qmail and there we had never any Problem. So i would suggest if there is any way switch to Qmail

If you want exim to just deliver messages without verifing senders just remove the two

require verify = ....

from the acl section with the exim config editor.
