Since about a week we have the problem that /tmp gets full of session files every few days.

It seems expired sessions are not removed or something like that.

Any idea why this might be happening?

have you had a recent influx of traffic, a new customer, or new site/site rebuild added to your server by chance?

a lot of the time, masses of sessions are caused by lazy developers not destroying sessions in their code, if it is becoming too much of a problem, you might want to set the default session expiry time a bit lower in your php.ini

It appears that the sessions are not removed within the time specified in php.ini

What can be the cause of that?

The /tmp folder already has its own partition (1 GIG)

So I think that URL is not useful for me.

I am getting the same problem whenever backup is done. /tmp gets full and just removing files does not help, reboot is required.
