I just finish installing tomcat using easyapache.

I can browse http:/ and login to admin using the password from tomcat-users.xml.

But I can not using shell to start or stop tomcat.
Even after I add export JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/jakarta/jdk or maybe I just do it incorrectly.

    The error is:
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine

And the result after using "Account Functions >> Install Servlets" also resulting a tomcat page 404 error.

    I'm using:

    Virtuozzo VPS
    WHM 11.11.0 cPanel 11.15.0-C18264
    CENTOS 5 i686 - WHM X v3.1.0
    Easy::Apache v3.2.0 Build 3344
    Apache Tomcat/5.5.25 [Newly installed].
PHP 5.2.4 with Suexec and Zend
    Apache 2.2

In my effort to enable the Install Servlet, I also installing:

"Software >> Install a RPM" for "Tomcat Admin-Webapps" and "Tomcat Webapps"

But the result still the same.

    Any help ?

JAVA requires a generous amount of available RAM memory.
Many VPS are not able to satisfy this requirement, hence the error you are receiving.
You need at least 512MB RAM (not virtual memory).
You would even need more RAM if also running other resource intensive programs
    such as Spamassassin or clamAV.
