    Hi,

I am getting these tomcat restart messages quite often:

tomcat failed @ Mon Aug 20 14:49:32 2007. A restart was attempted automagically.

However I can't see anything in the catalina.err or catalina.out that indicates a problem.

In the catalina.err, there are occaisonally these things as well but no real info:

jsvc.exec debug: Java VM created successfully
    jsvc.exec debug: Class org/apache/commons/daemon/support/DaemonLoader found
    jsvc.exec debug: Native methods registered
    jsvc.exec debug: Checking daemon
    jsvc.exec debug: Daemon checked successfully
    jsvc.exec debug: Daemon loaded successfully
jsvc.exec error: Service did not exit cleanly

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Hi,

It is possibly the Tomcat daemon may be crashing due to memory constraints.
Check that there is ample physical RAM memory available.

2GB ram. I would think that is good enough.
