    Hi All,

when we go to cpanel > mail > Trace an E-mail Address and insert a email address test@example.com
it will not show the email address trace. It will only show the email id(test@example.com) as a picture. Nothing else.

    Solution:

Go to Whm > tweak settings > and enable

Allow cpanel and admin binaries to be run from other applications besides the cpanel server (cpsrvd).

    This will solve the issue.

    :D

Call me silly if you like, but enabling this feature just to allow the email tracing feature to work is not a solution by merely a workaround that will possibly reduce security.

Such workarounds are really not good ideas - if allowing cpanel and admin binaries to be run from other applications besides the cpanel server didn't present any problems, it would either be enabled by default or would not even be presented as a choice.

What does the email tracing feature do other than find the MX records for a given email address and check that each corresponding server is responding? If it does nothing more than this, this is something you can easily do by hand without having to reduce security.

As is often the case, I may well have missed some obvious point here!
