I have a Cpanel/WHM server running on CentOS 5.3 i386 and I am looking to transfer/backup my entire Cpanel server to a CentOS 5.5 64bit install with a different IP address.

Is it possible to transfer from i386 to 64bit using Cpanel's built in transfer tool? I think my biggest question is does this support across different operating system versions. I have about 30 GB of information to transfer, across 10Mbit fiber optic connections. My plan is to:

    1. Install CentOS 5.5 64bit
    2. Assign new public IP address
    3. Install Latest CPanel/WHM version using trial license tied to new ip address.
    4. Configure new Cpanel server with new settings, but similar to my old server.
    5. Install ASSP Deluxe Anti Spam software (It is also running on old server).
    6. Stop Websites and Email on my old CPanel server
    7. Transfer accounts from old server to this server
    8. Adjust DNS for my cpanels to point to the new ip address
    9. Test to ensure accounts email and websites are working correctly.
    10. Move license over to new server and turn off old server

    Thank you,

    Wes
