I have a proboem. one websife under cpanel has a dir mail/new that has 60gb of stuff in it. rm -rf on this dir causes cpu to rise .40 to 20 to 100. I/O is 100% as well. server just locks up.

dir can not be deleted. so my question is what is the best option to tranfer the public html folder to a new server. I believe the cpanel account copy also copies all emails as well? also my server has 2ndserver for mysql. when u do account transfer though cpanel it tranfers the mysql as well right? but the mysql serveris fine. I just need the pub lic html and. account info to transfer.

whats the best way to do this? will probably transfer entire accounts about 20. only want the publuc html and acccount infos to transfer. including mysql info (not data) and ftp info.

So this won't copy any of the accounts, just the account information right? Will it create the correct directories as well? Like by default cpanel creates accounts under

/home/account/

It would still create such directories, but without the public_html right? Also it won't copy any webstats, mail as well? I basically just want a fresh directory start.

Hello :)

You can exclude the mail directory by utilizing a cpbackup-exclude.conf file within the account's home directory. This is documented at:

Excluding Files From Backups

EX:

Code:
# touch /home/user/cpbackup-exclude.conf
# vi /home/user/cpbackup-exclude.conf
You would simply add the following entry to it's own line in this file:

Code:
mail
Then, browse to the "Backup" icon within cPanel for this account, and generate the backup with:

"Download or Generate A Full Website Backup"

Thank you.
