    Postmaster
Mailscanner thanks transtec Computers for their support

Why is THAT in there? Who is transtec?????

    For example:

    pico /usr/mailscanner/etc/reports/en/deleted.virus.message.txt

    Wow.
Thanks for pointing it out. I just installed it like 2 days ago and didn't notice it yet.

It's time to hack the files. *sigh*

I was kind of hoping the Nick would fix this, as there are a LOT of files in there with this tag in it.

    :(

Because apparently the people at Transtec computers assisted the people who created MailScanner -- which was NOT created by the cPanel team. You should be asking the MailScanner developers to remove the sigs, not the cPanel developers.

Well, I do understand that they want to say thanks to this company but I do not agree them saying it in MY emails.
Anyway.. Removed it and will keep an eye on it in the future.

That is interesting trend I noticed, more and more software producers (even those commercial) require you to put their advertisement on the product you use.
While I kinda understand (kinda) something like that on free product, I totally disagree with putting anyones advertisements on something I'm paying for.

I obviously knew that MailScanner was not developed by cPanel, but I am suprised to learn that MailScanner put it there. Transtec isn't even capitalized. My first thought was that someone had hacked my box, but I saw other references to it. It just looks unprofessional.

GotHosting, are you using Cpanel's mailscanner installation or Mahmoud's? Do both of them have the commercial signatures?

The commercial signatures are part of the MailScanner distribution. They are in both tar files.
